Plum wine at home
Description
Here is a fairly simple recipe for homemade plum wine. You can repeat not only this classic version but also make a fortified or flavored drink. The wine has a beautiful red or deep yellow color (depending on the fruit variety), a delicate aroma, and taste. Serve chilled.

Step 1

1. The process should begin by thoroughly washing all the plums, drying them slightly, then splitting them in half and removing the pits. It's best to use well-ripened, soft, and juicy fruits for this homemade plum wine recipe.

Step 2

2. Place them in a suitable container, pour in a small amount of water, and put on the heat. Cook the fruits over medium heat for a short time until they become soft. To speed up the process, you can cook them in small batches.

Step 3

3. At the next stage, carefully rub the soft fruits through a sieve. Then add sugar and yeast to the resulting mixture. Mix thoroughly and pour into bottles. Cover with lids equipped with airlocks and leave to ferment in a warm place. When the process is complete, carefully siphon off the wine, leaving the sediment behind, and add a little more sugar if needed. Leave for another 3 days.

Step 4

4. Afterward, filter the wine once again, transfer it to clean bottles. Store in a dark place and leave until fully matured.

Step 5

5. You can taste your creation after about 3 months. That's it—now you know how to make plum wine at home. For those who enjoy experimenting, I also suggest adding cinnamon during the process, which will give the finished drink a unique twist, enhancing both its aroma and flavor.
