Vietnamese nem, despite their complex and unfamiliar-sounding name to Russian ears, are no more difficult to make than our pancakes—perhaps even simpler. Interestingly, the ingredients for this dish are quite basic, readily available, and familiar to us. Using a blender, grind the pork into a minced meat. Add a spoonful of soy sauce to the minced meat, mix well and let it marinate for half an hour. After half an hour, quickly fry the meat in a pan until browned.

Let's prepare the remaining ingredients. Cut the cucumber, peppers, green onions, and lettuce into thin strips, and tear the cilantro leaves. Pour boiling water over the glass noodles and let them soak for 3–4 minutes, then remove from water and chop finely.

The finale – rolling the nem. Gently moisten a sheet of rice paper, place the filling and other ingredients on one end, then carefully roll it up like a regular pancake.
