Vietnamese pancakes
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. Despite the dish seeming exotic, the recipe is very simple and accessible. Rice paper is now available in almost any grocery hypermarket, and you can choose any filling you like. The finished nem resemble stuffed pancakes or cabbage rolls. This dish is complete on its own and can be served either with a side dish or by itself. Delicious served warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

2. For the filling, sauté diced onion and grated carrot until soft.
- 3
Step 3

3. Add the ground meat; you can use any type of ground meat—mine is a pork and beef mix. Also add salt and your favorite spices. Traditionally, Vietnamese cuisine is quite spicy, so adjust to your taste.
- 4
Step 4

4. Fry the minced meat with the vegetables, stirring occasionally, until cooked.
- 5
Step 5

5. Pour boiling water over the glass noodles and let them soak for 5 minutes, then rinse under cold water and drain in a colander. Cut into pieces using kitchen scissors and add to the vegetable filling. Mix well. The filling is ready.

Step 6

6. Pour water into a wide plate and dip the rice paper into it one by one for no longer than 3 seconds. As soon as it becomes soft, remove it and place it onto a cutting board or plate. Place a small amount of filling in the center, fold in the sides, and roll it up tightly like a cabbage roll or crepe.

Step 7

7. Similarly, roll up all the rolls until you run out of wrappers and filling. Fry them in enough vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown. Vietnamese pancakes are ready.

Step 8

8. Serve hot.
