Fried oyster mushrooms with onions
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. These mushrooms are very tasty and cost almost nothing to prepare. These mushrooms can be part of a dish, served as a standalone dish, or used as a filling for pies and various kinds of homemade savory pastries. The finished dish can be served at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To prepare the dish, we need to take onion. Peel it and chop it finely into small cubes.

Step 2

Rinse the oyster mushrooms under running water. Let the excess liquid drain off. Slice the mushrooms with a sharp knife. It's best to cut off the base (the mushroom stem), as it remains tough during stewing and will only spoil the overall texture of the dish. Use the more tender parts of the mushroom instead.

Step 3

Sauté the onion in vegetable oil. Cook until the onion becomes soft and translucent. Add the mushrooms. Mix well. Cook covered over medium heat, stirring occasionally. It will take about 15 minutes to sauté the mushrooms.

Step 4

During cooking, add salt, pepper, and spices to taste to the mushrooms. Simmer until done.

Step 5

Serve the mushrooms at the table. They are delicious both on their own and with a side dish. As a side, I suggest braised cabbage, potatoes, or any type of grain.
