Vertuta with pumpkin and apples
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I want to share with you a recipe for simple baked goods, small snail-shaped pastries made from unleavened dough with a filling. The fillings for such snails can be any: fruit, vegetable, fish, or meat. Today I have pumpkin and apples. I added three small apples, but if your apples are large, two will be enough. Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients. Let's get started!

Step 2

2. Peel the pumpkin, removing the skin and the inner fibrous part. Grate it on a coarse grater. The apples also need to be peeled and cored, then grated. Pour 2–3 tablespoons of water into a skillet, add the pumpkin and apples, sprinkle with sugar and simmer until tender, allowing the water to evaporate. Cool the filling.

Step 3

Step 5

5. Divide the dough into 4 parts, and generously butter each one. Take one portion of dough and roll it out thinly on the work surface with a rolling pin or stretch it by hand. The dough should be very thin, like paper.

Step 6

6. Place a quarter of the filling on the dough and smooth it out.

Step 7

7. Roll into a tight log, then coil the log into a snail shape, folding the edges underneath.

8. Place the snails on parchment, brush with beaten egg, and bake in a hot oven (180 °C) for 30–40 minutes.
- 9
Step 9

9. As soon as the little snails turn a beautiful golden color, you can take them out.
