Description

The filling for vertuta can be completely different. I decided to use cottage cheese. Optionally, you can add raisins, dried apricots, or fruits to it. If you'd like a savory vertuta, you can make a filling with stewed cabbage, eggs with herbs, or cheese. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    1. Start preparing the cottage cheese vertuta with the dough. Kneading it is not difficult: sift the flour, beat eggs, vegetable oil, water, and vinegar in a separate bowl. Gradually add the flour and mix everything with a spoon. When the dough starts to thicken, transfer it onto a table and knead until it reaches the desired consistency.

    2. Set the dough aside and cover it with a paper towel. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Mix the eggs with cottage cheese and sugar. This can be done by hand or using a mixer.

    3. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and roll out each part. Spread the filling over the entire surface, leaving about 3 centimeters empty around the edges.

    4. Place the butter on top of the cottage cheese. Now you can roll the vertuta into a roll. Proceed in the same way with the remaining parts.

    5. Place all the rolls tightly next to each other. Don't forget to grease the baking dish well with oil. That's it—now prepare the topping made of sour cream, milk, and egg. Put the rolls into the preheated oven and bake for about an hour at a temperature not exceeding 160 degrees. The dish is ready when it has a golden-brown crust.
