Meat veruta
Description
A delicious and original meat-filled roll will appeal to many baking enthusiasts. It's not so difficult to prepare; the most important thing in this process is to roll the dough thinly. I'll tell you how. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

The first step is preparing the dough. For this, we need to mix vegetable oil, salt, water, and 1 egg. Add flour to the resulting mixture and knead the dough.
- 2
Step 2

The dough should turn out flaky, more similar to shortcrust. Let the dough rest for about 30 minutes. Cover it with a towel and leave it in a warm place.
- 3
Step 3

Chop the boiled meat any way you prefer—either finely slice it or grind it through a meat grinder.
- 4
Step 4

Peel and finely chop the onion for the filling. Here, again, there are options—you can add it raw to the filling, marinated, or lightly sautéed.
- 5
Step 5

Wash and finely chop the herbs.
- 6
Step 6

Mix the filling ingredients - meat, herbs, onion. Add half of the softened butter, salt and pepper. Mix everything well.
- 7
Step 7

Divide our dough into three parts. Each part needs to be rolled out into a very thin rectangle. The thickness of the rolled dough should be approximately that of thin Armenian lavash.
- 8
Step 8

Brush both sides of the rolled-out dough sheets with the remaining butter. Place one-third of the filling on each rolled-out sheet and spread it evenly.
- 9
Step 9

Roll up the tight roll.
- 10
Step 10

Roll the resulting dough into a spiral and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Beat an egg and brush the rolls with it.
- 11
Step 11

Bake the meat rolls in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. These golden-brown rolls are what we'll get.
