Cabbage tortilla
Description
Homemade pastry for tea. Many of you may remember the taste of this dish from childhood, and if not, I suggest you try this simple recipe for vertuta with cabbage. With it, you can easily prepare a delicious Moldovan treat. Traditionally, vertuta is made with a special stretched dough, and the roll is filled with cheese, meat, or apples. However, we'll simplify the process and use ready-made lavash instead. For the filling, we'll use white cabbage, making the dish not only very tasty but also quite economical. You can prepare this vertuta every day—it's perfect as a standalone breakfast or lunch dish, or as a wonderful appetizer for dinner. This recipe for cabbage vertuta allows you to quickly and easily create a delicious treat for the whole family. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, cut the onion into quarters, and shred the cabbage, add a little salt and rub it with your hands.
- 2
Step 2

Now pour 1.5 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the frying pan and sauté the chopped onion until golden brown.
- 3
Step 3

Then add the cabbage to the onion, salt a little more if needed, and fry everything together over low heat for 10-12 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

When the cabbage becomes soft and juicy, add the chopped greens to the pan, mix everything, and remove the pan from the heat.

Step 5

Cut a large lavash into several small squares (I got 8). Place a little filling on one edge of each square, brush the opposite edge with beaten egg white, tuck in the sides, and roll up the lavash into a roll, making sure the filling doesn't fall out.

Step 6

Pour the remaining vegetable oil into the skillet and fry the rolls on all sides until golden brown. Place the cooked rolls on a paper towel to remove excess oil, then serve.
