Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. In my family, we're not very fond of sweets, and we usually prepare sweet treats only for children during holidays. But savory pies or buns are a completely different story—no one ever refuses them. We have many recipes for such baked goods, but perhaps our favorite is this simple recipe for vertuta with brined cheese. In my opinion, it's one of the best traditional dishes of Moldovan cuisine because these vertutas turn out incredibly tasty, and the combination of cheese and dough is quite unique and interesting. Anyway, everyone should definitely try this pastry; by the way, it goes wonderfully even with tea, despite its slightly salty flavor. So invite your friends over and start preparing these lovely rolls. I'll tell you how to quickly and easily make brined cheese vertuta. Serve cooled down or slightly warm.

    First, prepare the dough. Pour the flour into a bowl, forming it into a mound, and make a small well in the center. Pour in the mixture of water and half a beaten egg. Add vegetable oil, butter, margarine, and a pinch of salt. Knead all these ingredients into a soft and elastic dough, roll it into a ball, place it in a bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rest for half an hour. After that, divide the dough into several equal portions (I have 5). In a separate bowl, mix the grated brinza cheese and chopped herbs.

    Now take one piece of dough and carefully roll it out as thinly as possible, then stretch it gently with your hands until the sheet becomes very thin. Sprinkle it with melted butter and place the prepared filling on the dough, spreading it evenly.

    Now roll the dough with the filling into a log. Do this very carefully so the dough doesn't tear.

    Slightly roll the log from the center toward the ends and coil it into a spiral. Do the same with the remaining pieces of dough.

    Grease a baking sheet or baking pan with butter and place the vertuts on it. Brush their surface with the remaining egg and put in an oven preheated to 230-240 degrees, bake until the vertuts turn a nice golden-brown color.
