Cheese and dill strudel with phyllo dough
Description
The recipe won't take much time. You've probably heard of vertuta, maybe even tried this delicious pie, but never made it yourself? I suggest you finally bake vertuta using this recipe and treat yourself and your loved ones to a tasty pie. It can be prepared with various fillings, but today I'll tell you about one option.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, prepare the dough. Sift the flour into a bowl and add a mixture of water, oil, egg, and salt. The dough can also be made without egg.
- 2
Step 2

The dough should be well-kneaded, elastic, and not stick to your hands. Add a little flour if necessary while kneading. Place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or ideally for an hour.
- 3
Step 3

Divide the dough into 4-5 parts. I will make a curd tart with half of the dough.
- 4
Step 4

Grease the table with vegetable oil and start rolling out the dough into a thin sheet. The dough rolls out very easily on the greased surface, so I didn't need to stretch it.
- 5
Step 5

This is how thin the dough sheet should be.
- 6
Step 6

While the dough was in the refrigerator, I prepared the filling. Mix cottage cheese, egg, and chopped dill. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- 7
Step 7

Roll out the dough, brush it with vegetable or butter, and place half of the filling on it. Spread it evenly.
- 8
Step 8

And we begin rolling the dough with the filling into a roll.
- 9
Step 9

This is what it looks like. You can slightly twist it into a rope.
- 10
Step 10

Grease the baking pan with oil and arrange both rolls in a snail shape in the pan.
- 11
Step 11

Brush with a mixture of egg yolk and a tablespoon of water, then place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
- 12
Step 12

Take out the ready-made vertuta and cover it with a towel, let it cool slightly. Then slice it.
- 13
Step 13

And serve at the table.
