Viennese pork schnitzel

Description

Perhaps the most popular Austrian meat dish (I specifically say "meat" because Austrian pastries are in a league of their own) is pork schnitzel. I've long adopted the recipe for Austrian schnitzel and regularly use it in my home cooking. Why not? The dish is very quick and simple to prepare, yet turns out delicious and even somewhat festive. After all, it's a piece of meat :) Good luck with your cooking!

    Cut the pork loin into portion-sized pieces about 1.5 cm thick. Of course, cut across the grain.

    Wrap each piece of pork in plastic wrap and thoroughly pound both sides.

    The meat should become very thin and increase in area by approximately twice.

    Roll each piece in flour, then in beaten egg with salt and pepper.

    Once again, coat the piece of meat in flour.

    Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the schnitzel for 1-2 minutes on each side over medium heat.
