Viennese waffles with kefir

Description

Preferably, all ingredients used in the preparation should be roughly the same temperature, so set them out on the kitchen counter ahead of time. If you make a lot of waffles, they will still be just as tasty the next day. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    Crack an egg into a bowl and add the sugar. Beat these ingredients with a mixer for about 20–30 seconds.

    Add the kefir and whisk until combined.

    Melt the butter over low heat in a saucepan and add it to the bowl with the remaining ingredients. Whisk to combine.

    Whisk everything together until you get a fluffy batter that is thick enough to fall from a spoon rather than run off.
