
Hungarian beef goulash
Description
Delicious Hungarian beef goulash is prepared as follows. Chop the meat, onion, tomatoes, and garlic. Sear the meat, floured on all sides, in a pot, then add onion, garlic, spices, tomato paste, and wine. Simmer for 25 minutes. Then add chopped potatoes, carrots, and peppers. Cut the beef, onion, and tomatoes into pieces, and finely chop the garlic.

Sear the meat, coated in flour, in a pot with vegetable oil.

After 3 minutes, add the onion and cook for another 8–10 minutes.

Then add the chopped tomato, paprika, salt, pepper, tomato paste, garlic, wine, and a little water to the pot.

Stir well and simmer over medium heat for 25 minutes.

Add the chopped vegetables, bay leaf, and a little water to the stewed meat (adjust by eye so that the sauce is neither too thick nor too runny). Simmer covered for 40 minutes. Serve the finished dish on plates.
