Vegetarian Rolls with Korean Carrots
Description
Perfect with meals and drinks. The key to making rolls is properly preparing the rice: after cooking, it must be seasoned with sushi rice vinegar, which contains a certain amount of salt and sugar, making the rice sticky and allowing you to shape it into rolls later. The appetizer is ready. Serve immediately.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare everything you need. If you don't have rice paper, you can make only one type of rolls with nori sheets and sesame, which should be lightly toasted in a pan beforehand.
- 2
Step 2

Thoroughly rinse the rice and place it in the multicooker bowl or a saucepan, pour in cold water, and cook over low heat (multicooker settings "express" or "grains") for 10-15 minutes, then turn off the heat and let the rice finish cooking for another 7-10 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

Season the hot rice with sushi rice vinegar, mix quickly and thoroughly, and let cool.
- 4
Step 4

To make nori rolls, place the sheet on a special bamboo mat, trimming it to size if necessary. Wetting your fingers with water, spread half of the prepared rice over the sheet, leaving a gap of about 1 cm from one edge.
- 5
Step 5

Carefully flip the rice sheet so the rice layer is on the bottom. Place all filling ingredients on the nori sheet one at a time: cream cheese or soft spreadable cheese, cucumber cut into sticks, and Korean-style carrot.
- 6
Step 6

Grasping the free edge of the nori, roll the roll using a bamboo mat, moving away from you so that the filling and the nori sheet end up inside the roll.
- 7
Step 7

Shape the rolled roll into the desired form and dip it in sesame seeds toasted in a skillet.
- 8
Step 8

Rolls with rice paper should be started by moistening the paper with water for a few seconds so it becomes pliable.
- 9
Step 9

In the center of the moistened rice sheet, place the second half of the rice, and then all the components of the vegetarian filling.
- 10
Step 10

Roll up the roll with rice paper, moistening the drying edges of the paper with water as needed to prevent cracking.
- 11
Step 11

With a sharp knife dipped in water, cut the two rolls into serving-size pieces (8 pieces each) and serve with soy sauce.
