
Cottage cheese and sour cream vatrushki

1. To prepare vatrushki with cottage cheese in a sour cream topping, you can use any liquid dairy products. Dissolve the yeast in the liquid. Add salt, sugar, and a room-temperature egg, along with softened butter.

2. Knead a not-too-thick dough. It should be elastic but not stick to your hands. Cover the dough with a cotton cloth and set it aside in a warm place.

3. Start preparing the filling. Add egg with sugar to the cottage cheese. Mix well. Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out one part into a rectangular layer.

4. Spread the cottage cheese evenly over the surface. Roll the dough into a roll.

5. Cut the roll into 4 cm pieces. Place each piece onto a baking sheet as shown in the photo, leaving space between the vatrushkas. Bake for approximately 25 minutes. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. The vatrushkas should turn out beautiful and golden.

6. Meanwhile, whip the sour cream, adding sugar if desired. Pour the sour cream over the baked vatrushkas directly in the oven and leave for another 5 minutes. Transfer the vatrushkas to a special container and cover them with a lid. Let them stand for 30 minutes.
