Boiled sugar
Description
If desired, you can add one tablespoon of cocoa powder to the sugar in the first step. This will give the candies a darker color and a subtle chocolate flavor. Instead of seeds for the filling, you can use raisins or nuts. However, candies without any filling are also very delicious.
Instructions

Step 1

Place the sour cream in a saucepan and add sugar. Put on low heat and begin heating, stirring occasionally. After a few minutes, add the sunflower seeds.

Step 2

When the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to the lowest setting and cook the sugar for about 30 minutes. Remember to stir the mixture thoroughly, scraping it from the bottom. The caramel should become thick and brown. After 30 minutes, immediately remove the pot from the heat and mix in the butter.

Step 3

Now you need to prepare the mold for the candies. These can be small molds or one large one. In any case, grease the mold with vegetable oil. When the mixture has cooled slightly, pour it into the mold.

Step 4

Sugar hardens very quickly. But if you have a large mold and the sugar is layered thickly in it, it's better to put it in the refrigerator. After half an hour, you can remove the sugar from the mold and cut it into pieces of arbitrary size.
