Description

The recipe won't take much time. Anyway, I'll share with you my favorite recipe for this dish. I've described it below. Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

Immediately add about a teaspoon of salt to the bowl with the flour. Mix well. Then, into a glass of water at room temperature (important!!!), crack an egg. Beat thoroughly using a fork.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

In a bowl with flour, make a well in the center. Pour in a little water with the egg and start kneading the dough. Gradually add the egg-water mixture, continuing to knead until the dough is fully combined.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Place the resulting mixture onto a surface and, gradually adding the remaining flour, knead into a firm dough.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and place it in a container with a lid. At the same time, prepare a larger container, pour some hot water into it (but not boiling water!!!). Place the container with the dough into this water bath and set it aside for one to two hours.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

Meanwhile, let's prepare the cherries. Remove the pits from the berries. You can do this as follows: take a hairpin, insert the rounded end into the spot where the cherry stem was attached, and carefully remove the pit.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Divide the dough into several portions and roll each portion as thin as possible. You can cut out circles using any convenient tool (a glass, special cutters). Transfer the prepared circles onto a plate and cover them with plastic wrap.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Take the circles one by one, holding the sticky side up. Gently stretch the center slightly with your fingers. Place about half a teaspoon of sugar in the center of each. Then add cherries (about 2 cherries per circle), positioning them with the hole—where the pit was removed—facing down onto the sugar. Carefully seal the dough edges, pressing with a fork to secure.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

We do the same with all the circles. Boil the dumplings in boiling water. They are ready when the dough becomes soft (about 3-5 minutes after the water resumes boiling). I like to coat the cooked dumplings with melted butter.
