Transparent Apple Jam
Description
A simple way to make preserves ahead of time. Here is a simple recipe for transparent apple jam. All you need are apples and sugar. Choose apples that are not too tart and not too sweet—something in between. I used Antonovka apples, freshly picked from the tree. Under no circumstances use overripe apples that have been lying on the ground for a long time, or your jam will turn into thick apple purée. Good luck! The preserves are ready for winter storage.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Wash the apples and cut them into wedges. Remove the core and seeds.
- 2
Step 2

Transfer the apples to a large cooking pot and sprinkle sugar on top. If you added the sugar in the evening, let the apples stand like that until morning.
- 3
Step 3

In the morning, the apples should release a little juice, and the sugar will dissolve.
- 4
Step 4

Place the pot on the heat, bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 5–7 minutes and remove from the heat. When the jam has cooled, repeat the procedure. Push down any slices that become transparent.
- 5
Step 5

After the second boiling, the jam looked like this.
- 6
Step 6

After the third boiling, the jam is ready!
- 7
Step 7

Spread the finished jam into sterilized jars, and of course set aside a small bowl for tasting!
