Apple and Plum Jam
Description
A simple way to make preserves ahead of time. This jam is very easy to make. Choose plums that are ripe enough but not soft—firm and springy instead. The Ugorka variety works best here; it is the one used to make the famous prunes everyone knows. Use firm apple varieties as well. Add sugar to taste, but remember that sugar acts as a preservative: the more you use, the more resistant the product will be to high temperatures. Store apple and plum jam in a cool place. The amounts listed yield three 500 ml jars.
