Blackcurrant Jam in the Microwave
Description
A simple way to stock up ahead of time. I only recently discovered this method of making jam, and I liked it so much that I want to share it with you and explain how to make currant jam in the microwave. It may be hard to believe at first, but the treat turns out excellent, and given how little time we spend on it, this recipe will become an indispensable helper for any homemaker—especially now that preserving season has already begun. There is one drawback, though: you can only make the jam in small batches, but it is very quick and requires little effort. In short, if this year you feel too lazy to spend several hours on preserves, I recommend making currant jam in the microwave at home. 1) Pick through the berries and wash them well, then drain them in a colander. As soon as the currants are dry, transfer them to a container of at least 2.5 liters, sprinkle with sugar, mix everything, and leave for an hour. 2) During this time the berries will release their juice, and we can start making the jam. Set the microwave to its highest power, put the container with currants in it, bring to a boil, take it out, and mix everything. 3) Now put the jam back in the microwave for 2 minutes, then take it out again, add the pepper, mix, and put it back in the microwave for 5–8 minutes. 4) The jam is ready, so pour it into sterilized jars, and when it has cooled, seal the jars tightly with lids. Store the jam in the refrigerator or another cool place. The flavor of such a treat is delightful despite how quickly it is made. Enjoy your meal. The jars keep for up to a year in a cool place.
