Blackcurrant Jam in the Air Fryer
Description
Winter preserves at home. I think many of you have already heard that you can make various preserves in an air fryer, so if you have such an appliance at home, I suggest moving from words to action—besides, berry season is just around the corner. To start, I want to share my favorite recipe with you and tell you how to can currant jam in an air fryer. I make this fragrant treat every summer, but I made it in an air fryer for the first time last year; I really liked both the taste and how easy the cooking process was. You don’t need to fuss with basins and pots—just put jars of berries and syrup in the bowl, and in half an hour our jam is ready: very fast and convenient. If you’ve never tried making preserves this way, I highly recommend making currant jam in an air fryer at home—you’ll be amazed at how simple it is. 1) First, you need to sterilize the jars; we can do that in the air fryer too. So, set the temperature to 150 degrees, high speed, and sterilize them for 15 minutes (for 800 g and 1 liter jars). 2) While the jars are being processed, we’ll make sugar syrup at a ratio of 750 g sugar per 1 liter of water. Mix these ingredients, heat them over low heat until the sugar crystals dissolve, and boil for a couple of minutes. 3) When the jars are sterilized, fill them with clean dry berries and pour hot syrup over the berries. Place the jars (without lids) in the air fryer, set the temperature to 180 degrees, and cook the jam for 25 minutes on high speed. 4) When the time is up, carefully remove the jars and seal them. Then it’s the usual routine: turn them upside down and leave them to cool under a blanket, then move them to a cool place for storage. This jam turns out very tasty, and the berries stay whole and don’t fall apart. Enjoy your meal. The preserve is ready for winter storage.
