Description
A canning recipe without unnecessary complications. Below I’ll go into more detail. Jars keep for up to a year when stored in a cool place.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Sort through the plums and wash them thoroughly.

- 4
Step 4

Transfer the plums to a deep saucepan, pour in water, and sprinkle with sugar.
- 5
Step 5

Gently mix and let stand for a couple of hours so they release their juice and the sugar dissolves.
- 6
Step 6

Bring to a boil over low heat.
- 7
Step 7

Boil for 5 minutes. If a lot of foam forms during cooking, skim it off with a spoon.

Remove the pot from the stove and let it cool completely.
- 9
Step 9

Then bring to a boil again, simmer for 5 minutes, and let cool. Repeat this process 3–4 times in total. The jam should thicken.
- 10
Step 10

Pack the hot jam into clean sterilized jars. Seal the lids tightly, wrap in warmth, and leave until completely cooled. Then store in a cool, dark place.
