Quick Plum Jam
Description
Perfect for stocking up for winter. The jam really does cook very quickly, and you can use it not only with tea but also in porridge or desserts. Fragrant, wholesome, and delicious—it’s indispensable during the autumn and winter months. Of course, you can buy plum jam in almost any supermarket these days, but you’ll agree that homemade jam is simply incomparable to store-bought! Shall we begin? The preserve is ready for winter storage.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. The fruit should be ripe and sweet; you can even use slightly overripe plums.
- 2
Step 2

Wash the plums thoroughly, then cut each plum in half with a sharp knife and carefully remove the pit.
- 3
Step 3

For jam, plums can be cut not into halves but into smaller pieces.
- 4
Step 4

Add sugar to the plums and mix.
- 5
Step 5

Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the plums release their juice.
- 6
Step 6

While the jam is cooking, sterilize the glass jars. I use small jars, no more than 300–400 ml in capacity. Bring the jam to a boil, skim off any foam that forms, and cook, stirring, for 5–7 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Spoon the plum jam into sterile jars and seal with sterilized lids.
- 8
Step 8

Turn the jars upside down, wrap them, and leave until cool.
- 9
Step 9

Plum jam is ready. Store in any dark, cool place.
