Peach jam in syrup
Description
This is a simple recipe for making peach jam in syrup. Required ingredients: peaches, sugar, water, and lemon juice. By the way, if you bought nectarines instead of peaches, they will work perfectly as well. Peach or nectarine jam made according to this recipe stores well at room temperature, even if sealed with a regular plastic lid. Happy cooking!
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Wash and cut the peaches into small pieces.

Step 2

Make a syrup from sugar and water. When the sugar has completely dissolved, remove it from the heat, let it cool slightly, and add lemon juice.
- 3
Step 3

Place the sliced peaches into the warm syrup for 24 hours. Stir occasionally for even soaking.
- 4
Step 4

The next day, heat the peaches in syrup to boiling, turn off the stove, and let the jam stand for another day. Do not cover with a lid; you can simply cover with gauze, and remember to stir occasionally.

Step 5

This is what the jam looks like after the first cooking.

Step 6

After 24 hours, heat the jam to boiling, reduce the heat, and simmer gently, stirring carefully, until about 200 ml of liquid has evaporated (if making a larger batch of jam, evaporate an equivalent amount of liquid corresponding to the water used to make the syrup). This will take up to 10 minutes. Transfer the finished jam into jars and seal with lids.

Serve at the table.
