Description
Among common folk, physalis is called Jewish cherry or emerald berry, and sometimes ground cranberry. The physalis fruit ripens inside an orange husk that looks very much like a paper lantern, which dries out as the fruit matures. Physalis should be peeled from the husk, rinsed, and only then can you start working with it. The most common edible physalis varieties are the vegetable or Mexican type and the strawberry type. So,
