
Red Currant Jam for Winter
Description
A very simple recipe for red currant jam to keep for winter. The jam turns out very beautiful, with an interesting jelly-like consistency. Day by day it will thicken a little, while the flavor only grows richer. Happy cooking!

Rinse the currants thoroughly under cold water. Cleaning is optional. Sprinkle the berries with sugar and mix.

After 10 minutes, stir the currants again.

Transfer the berries to a cooking pot, pour in a glass of water. Cook over medium heat, stirring the jam constantly with a wooden spoon.

After 5 minutes, foam will begin to appear and the jam will take on a pinkish hue. Stirring vigorously, bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat for another 30 minutes.

Remove the jam from the heat and rub it through a sieve.

Spread the hot jam into sterilized jars. Seal the jars, turn them upside down, and wrap them in a blanket. When the jam has cooled, move it to the pantry for storage.
