Pear Jam in a Bread Machine
Description
To make pear jam in a bread machine at home, follow these instructions: 1. Wash the pears in cold running water. Peel the fruit, remove the cores, and cut the flesh into small pieces. 2. Place the pears in a saucepan and squeeze in the lemon. Lemon juice will prevent the flesh from darkening, which can occur during maceration. You can also add grated lemon zest and pulp to the saucepan with the pears. 3. Sprinkle the pears with sugar. It will take several hours for the pears to release their juice. You can even leave the pears to macerate for an hour. During maceration, stir the mixture with a spoon from time to time. 4. Now you can place the container with pears in the bread machine. The jam will cook for about an hour. 5. Once cooled, the jam can be served at the table or packed into sterilized jars. The preserve is ready for winter storage.
