Sugar-free pear jam
Description
Homemade preserves keep for a long time. To make pear jam without water at home, it’s best to use a microwave. This lets you get a tasty, healthy dish with little effort in about an hour—a dish that’s always welcome, especially if you’re on a diet. The preserve is ready for winter storage.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Wash the fruit in cold water and dry them with paper towels. Remove the pit from the peach and the core from the pear. Cut the fruit into small pieces, and peel the pear first as well.
- 2
Step 2

Puree the fruit using a blender, meat grinder, or potato masher.
- 3
Step 3

Place the mixture in the container it will be cooked in. Ideally, use a heat-resistant bowl. Set the microwave timer for 20 minutes and cook on maximum power. Open the door from time to time to stir the mixture.

Step 4

Boil the resulting mixture a second time at 60–80% power for half an hour. The jam volume will decrease as it cooks, but that’s normal—that’s what we were aiming for.

Step 5

When ready, pour the jam onto a plate. It should not spread; it should be fairly thick — that's how you'll know you did it correctly.
