Boiled potatoes
Description
Let me share a little secret: I love serving boiled potatoes with seeds. I fry shelled sunflower seeds in butter for about a minute, then add them to the cooked potatoes and mix. If you have sunflower seeds on hand, give this a try—it will be delicious.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Place young potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Let them sit for a couple of minutes so that the adhering sand can loosen.
- 2
Step 2
Now drain the dirty water and thoroughly rinse each potato by hand. If you feel there is still a lot of sand and dirt, gently rub the potatoes with a clean, rough scrubber.
- 3
Step 3
Place the cleaned potatoes in a pot, add water to cover the tubers by two fingers, put on the heat and bring to a boil.
- 4
Step 4
Add salt to the boiling water and cook for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes become soft.
- 5
Step 5
Now, without turning off the heat, drain the water from the potatoes, return the pot to the stove, and add the butter. When the butter melts, mix the potatoes.
- 6
Step 6
Finely chop the onion and dill, add the herbs to the pot, mix with the potatoes, and transfer to plates.
