Vanilla cake with mirror glaze
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. You can make the mirror glaze in a single color or multicolored using food coloring. Prepare the glaze last, once the cake and cream are ready. Mirror glaze differs from regular glaze and is slightly more complex to make. Enjoy the cake after the glaze has set. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Place 230 grams of butter and vegetable fat (margarine) into the mixer bowl and beat until fluffy. Gradually add 0.5 kilograms of sugar, then add the chicken eggs one at a time.
- 2
Step 2
In another container, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate container, combine the milk, buttermilk, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla.
- 3
Step 3
Into the mixer bowl, alternately add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture in 3 stages, alternating with milk and buttermilk.
- 4
Step 4
Prepare 2 baking pans and divide the dough between them. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for 25–35 minutes, then cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Remove from the pan and let cool completely.
- 5
Step 5
Place the butter into a clean mixer bowl and beat until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and remaining vanilla extract. Beat first on low speed, then on high speed. If the frosting is too thick, add cream.
- 6
Step 6
Cut the cooled cake layers in half. Place one layer down and spread jam on it, then cover with cream. Repeat the same steps with the remaining layers. Spread cream over the top and sides of the cake. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before decorating with icing.
- 7
Step 7
Mix the gelatin with 120 milliliters of water, let stand for 5-6 minutes.
- 8
Step 8
Pour 60 milliliters of water, corn syrup, and 200 grams of sugar into a saucepan, place over heat, and cook for 7-8 minutes after boiling until the sugar dissolves.
- 9
Step 9
Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour in the previously soaked gelatin with water, condensed milk, and mix. Combine everything with the chopped white chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts.
- 10
Step 10
Divide the icing into several containers (depending on the number of colors). For the main color, use the majority of the icing and add black to it. To the other containers, add purple, blue, pink, and yellow colors.
- 11
Step 11
Place the cake on a small stand, pour the main color of the glaze over the cake, then add the remaining colors as desired. Finally, sprinkle the cake with gold powder and leave it to set until the glaze hardens.
