Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mats. Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and scrape out all the seeds. Mix with the cream and set aside for 15 minutes.

Step 2

2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the butter cut into pieces and cut it in using a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles crumbs.
- 3
Step 3

3. Beat the egg in a separate bowl and mix with the cream using a fork.
- 4
Step 4

4. Pour the resulting mixture into the flour mixture and gently stir with a fork. Place the dough onto a floured surface. The mixture will be quite crumbly.

Step 5

5. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1 cm thick. Trim the edges of the rectangle to make them even. With a sharp knife, cut the rectangle into 12 symmetrical squares or rectangles. Then cut each square/rectangle in half diagonally to make two triangles.

Step 6

6. Place the triangles on a baking sheet and bake for 18 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.

7. To make the glaze, cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Mix the seeds with milk and let it stand for a while. Combine powdered sugar with the milk, adding more powdered sugar or milk as needed to achieve the desired consistency. Beat the glaze until smooth.
