Open the vodka and place the vanilla pod, already cut in half, into it. It's important to carefully cut the pod so it doesn't crumble. Use a sharp knife. There's no need to remove the core from the vanilla pod, as it provides a lot of aroma.

Close the vodka with a lid. Place it in a dark place for five days. The vodka should acquire a yellowish tint. Shake the bottle daily to ensure the flavor is evenly distributed and fully developed.

Then the vanilla pods need to be removed. If left for longer than a week, they will gradually start to break down. The pods can be added back into the drink if it has been less than a week.
