Homemade Waffles
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. To make the dough, mix sugar with water, salt, baking soda, half of the flour, and vanilla sugar. Then add eggs and beat for 10 minutes in the cold. To the whipped mixture, add softened butter and the remaining flour, then continue beating for about 5 minutes. For the cream, beat egg whites with sugar over a water bath until foamy. Remove from heat and continue beating until cooled to the temperature of fresh milk. Mix in butter, adding it by teaspoons. Then pour in liqueur, stir, and chill. Preheat a cast-iron or electric waffle iron to 150°C, grease the inside with melted butter, and pour in the batter. Close the waffle iron for 2–4 minutes to bake. Once ready, roll the waffle and fill with cream.
