
Uzbek flatbread
Description
The pastry is prepared simply and quickly. Uzbek flatbreads are made from yeast dough. They turn out airy, soft, with a pleasant crunch from sesame seeds. They are served with hot, fragrant tea or at lunch. For the dough you can use dry or fresh yeast. You need three times less of the dry kind.

Prepare the ingredients for making flatbreads.

Put the yeast in a bowl and pour warm water over it.

Add salt, sugar, and sifted flour.

Knead a soft, elastic dough that does not stick to your hands. Grease the bowl with sunflower oil and place the dough into it. Cover with plastic wrap and set the bowl with the dough in a warm place.

After an hour to an hour and a half, the dough will rise.

Divide the dough into balls. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise briefly.

From each dough ball, shape a flat round with an indentation in the middle. Pierce the center of the round with a fork. In Uzbekistan, a chekich is used for this.

Place the flatbreads in the baking dish.

Brush the flatbreads with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Bake the flatbreads in an oven preheated to 190–200 degrees for 15–20 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven.
