Duck in an air fryer
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Duck is a meat that people either love or don't care for. This bird is quite fatty, which not everyone likes. Using an air fryer, you can cook duck more easily and a bit faster than in a conventional oven. Plus, the fat will render out without burning, unlike when roasting on a baking tray in the oven. You can stuff the duck simply with apples, or add other fruits (such as pear or orange). Try different combinations, experiment, and bake duck with various fillings. In this recipe, I'll show you how. Serve hot.
Instructions

Step 1

Wash the duck, carefully remove any remaining feathers, and trim off excess fat. Then rub the duck with salt both inside and out. Let the duck marinate in a cold place for 3 to 5 hours.

Step 2

We wash the apples and cut them into large slices. In a separate bowl, we mix the spices—pepper and dried herbs.

Step 3

To prevent the duck from being too fatty, prick it all over with a toothpick. Sprinkle the duck with a mixture of spices and stuff it with apples. Secure the abdominal cavity with toothpicks or sew it up with regular thread.

Step 4

We will cook the duck in a roasting bag. Place the duck into the bag and tightly tie the bag's opening. Put the duck on the lower rack of the air fryer.
- 5
Step 5

Close the air fryer lid and start cooking at the highest fan speed and a temperature of 220-230 degrees.
- 6
Step 6

After about 50 minutes, turn off the air fryer and carefully flip the duck over. Do this carefully—the bag is hot and already contains the duck's accumulated juices. Close the air fryer, set the temperature to 170-180 degrees, and continue roasting the duck for another 40 minutes.

Step 7

After the recommended baking time has elapsed, check the duck for doneness. Pierce it near the leg joints in the thickest part; the released juice should be clear. If the juice is still cloudy, continue baking for another 15 minutes. Before serving, remember to remove the toothpicks or strings from the duck's cavity.
