Duck with mustard baked in the oven
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The dish will turn out very juicy and appetizing, with a golden crust. It's advisable to cut the duck into pieces and coat it with mustard 15–20 minutes before baking—this will make the dish more tender. You can also marinate the duck overnight, if you have the chance. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Rinse the duck carcass and cut it into pieces.
- 2
Step 2

Rub the pieces of the chicken with salt and ground black pepper on all sides. The most important thing is to rub the meat, as the skin will release fat and the spices won't stick to it.
- 3
Step 3

Then coat the duck pieces with mustard—not grainy, but moist powdered mustard. Not dry mustard powder!
- 4
Step 4

Place the duck pieces in a baking dish, skin side down.
- 5
Step 5

Wrap the baking dish with foil and place in a preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, basting with the rendered fat.
- 6
Step 6

Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- 7
Step 7

Serve the duck with mustard from the oven with potatoes, sauerkraut, and boiled rice.
