Chocolate snails
Description
Delicious pastries for the whole family. Chocolate snail rolls work just as well for a simple family tea as for any holiday table. They’re ideal both for buffets and children’s parties. You can use any chocolate, as long as it doesn’t contain inclusions or other fillers. For variety, stir nuts or raisins into the filling to get a new, interesting flavour every time. Bookmark this recipe. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it in the microwave or in a double boiler.
- 3
Step 3

Flour your work surface. Roll each sheet of dough into a rectangle and spread with melted chocolate.
- 4
Step 4

Then roll into a tight roll, pinch the seam closed, and cut into pieces 2–3 cm long.
- 5
Step 5

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. For each shaped piece of dough, pinch the seam closed on one side so the chocolate does not leak out during baking, place that seam side down on the baking sheet and press lightly on top with your hands. You will get a sort of snail shape.
- 6
Step 6

Brush the pastries with beaten egg (I also decided to sprinkle them with sugar) and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Chocolate snails are ready.
- 8
Step 8

The baking is ready. Serve with tea.
