Puff pastry snails with ham and cheese
Description
In the filling, besides ham and cheese, you can add finely chopped bell pepper or some herbs! You can use either puff pastry yeast dough or a non‑yeast dough. And I’ll tell you a basic recipe; it can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. The dough needs to be thawed in advance (about 30 minutes at room temperature).
- 2
Step 2

Roll out the sheet of dough so that it becomes twice as large.
- 3
Step 3

Grate the cheese and ham using a coarse grater. First, spread the cheese on the dough.
- 4
Step 4

Then the ham.
- 5
Step 5

Roll it up lengthwise.
- 6
Step 6

Slice into portions, about 1 cm thick.
- 7
Step 7

From 250 g of dough I got 20 pastries. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Beat the egg with a fork and brush the pastries with it using a pastry brush.
- 8
Step 8

Bake in a preheated oven for 20–25 minutes at 180°C.
- 9
Step 9

Let the finished puff pastries cool and serve them at the table!
