Ukrainian Wafer Cake

Description

This recipe won’t take much of your time. The hardest part of making this dish is buying the waffles, since they aren’t sold everywhere (except in Ukraine, of course, where you can find them in almost any store). Otherwise, it’s the simplest cake you’ve ever seen :) Even a child could make it—everything is that easy. Yet despite how simple it is, the cake turns out very tasty—not fancy, of course, but it goes wonderfully with tea. The baking is done. Serve it at the table.

    Ingredients. Here are the very waffles we’re talking about.

    Mix the condensed milk with the butter.

    Also add lemon juice.

    Beat at high speed for 2–3 minutes.

    Take the waffle cake layer and spread the resulting cream over it.

    In the same way, assemble the whole cake: spread the layers and stack them on top of each other.

    Place the cake under a press for about two hours so the wafers bond firmly together.

    Cut the cake into small pieces (in the purely Ukrainian style) and serve.
