
Pumpkin bread with nut topping
Description
The baking is simple and quick. A recipe for bread with pumpkin puree, spices, and a topping of brown sugar, nuts, cinnamon, and butter. For the topping, you can choose any nuts you like—pecans, walnuts, etc.

1. Make the bread. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Lightly grease 6 mini loaf pans with oil and dust with flour. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. In another large bowl, beat butter and applesauce. Stir in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in pumpkin puree, then water. Add about half of the flour mixture and stir. Add the remaining flour and mix until smooth.

2. Divide the dough evenly between the pans and set aside while you prepare the topping.

3. To make the topping, in a bowl mix together sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add chopped nuts. Add melted butter and stir with a spoon until the mixture resembles wet sand. Do not break the mixture into very small clumps. Evenly sprinkle the prepared topping over the bread.

4. Bake for 20 minutes. Rotate the pans 180 degrees and bake for another 20 to 22 minutes. If making one large loaf, bake it first for 25 minutes, then for another 25 to 27 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
