Pumpkin candies
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The base for pumpkin candies turns out quite tender, so it's convenient to use teaspoons when shaping the balls, which will also help make the candies approximately the same size. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the listed ingredients, keeping in mind that cornflakes can be replaced with crushed nuts.
- 2
Step 2

Cut the pumpkin flesh into small pieces and steam for 5-7 minutes until soft. You can also bake the pumpkin in the oven.
- 3
Step 3

Using a blender, turn boiled or baked pumpkin flesh into purée, place it in a heavy-bottomed saucepan or small pot, pour in the milk and add sugar, then mix well.
- 4
Step 4

Place the saucepan with the prepared mixture on the stove, bring to a boil and simmer for 35–40 minutes, stirring the mixture occasionally with a wooden spoon.
- 5
Step 5

After the specified time, the mixture should thicken well, caramelize, and reduce in volume by approximately 2.5 to 3 times.
- 6
Step 6

Remove the saucepan from the heat and add butter, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, and 20-30 grams of ground cornflakes (ground using a blender or coffee grinder) to the hot pumpkin mixture.
- 7
Step 7

Thoroughly mix the candy base, let it cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1.5–2 hours to set.
- 8
Step 8

Form balls from the well-chilled pumpkin mixture and dip them in crushed cornflakes.
- 9
Step 9

Place the finished pumpkin candies on a plate and serve with tea. Store the dessert in the refrigerator to maintain its shape.
