Pumpkin with dried fruits in a pot
Description
The recipe won't take much time. I know that in ancient times, dishes like pumpkin with dried fruits baked in a pot at home were cooked in a stove. I can imagine how amazing the aroma and juiciness must have been, since a stove retains all the dish's juices better than an oven! However, our ancestors didn't have rice or foil, so this new recipe surpasses its predecessor in some aspects. Let's start cooking. Serve hot.

Step 1

1. Wash the pumpkin, dry it, and carefully remove the center.

Step 2

2. Separately, rinse the rice thoroughly and pour boiling water over it—let it sit for at least 10–15 minutes, or better yet, half an hour. Drain the water, then add chopped dried fruits and pumpkin flesh (without seeds) to the rice. Add cinnamon and honey, and mix well. Pour in the cream and stir gently. Fill the pumpkin with this mixture.

Step 3

3. Cover the pumpkin with a "lid" made from the mushroom cap, wrap it in foil, place it in a baking dish, and bake for two hours at 180 degrees Celsius. Open the foil 15 minutes before the end of cooking, as shown in the photo, so the pumpkin can brown.
