Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Cut the cold butter into pieces.

Combine the flour, sugar, butter, and egg yolk in the processor bowl, blend until smooth. Gather the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Prepare the ingredients for the filling and the meringue. Rinse the currants under cold water and pat them dry. Separate the yolks from the whites.

Cover the semolina with sour cream and let the grains swell. Beat the yolks with sugar and vanilla. Add the cottage cheese and blend until smooth.

Add the softened semolina to the cottage cheese mixture, stir. Sprinkle the currants, stir.

Spread the dough in a thin layer over a baking pan (diameter - 24 cm), forming edges. Prick the dough with a fork, place it to bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.

Beat the egg whites with powdered sugar until a firm foam forms and spread it with a spoon over the entire surface of the filling. Place the pie in the oven for 10–15 minutes. Leave the finished pie in the turned‑off oven for another 15 minutes.
