Cottage cheese buns in sour cream topping
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. Prepare a rich cottage cheese dough and let it rise. Shape the buns and bake them in the oven. Mix sour cream with sugar and pour this mixture over the buns; let them sit and soak. Ready. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients for the buns, as well as sour cream for the topping. The amount of flour is approximate and may require slightly more or less, depending on the moisture content of the cottage cheese.
- 2
Step 2

To prepare the cottage cheese dough, dissolve fresh yeast in warm milk with a pinch of salt. Then add sugar, eggs (I reserved one yolk for brushing the buns), soft butter, cottage cheese passed through a sieve, vanilla extract or vanilla sugar, and one cup of flour. Mix the liquid dough thoroughly.

Step 3

Add the flour in parts and knead the dough. Transfer to a floured surface and work the dough into a smooth ball. The dough should be soft, not stiff. Cover with a dry towel and place in the warmest spot, away from drafts, for 1-2 hours.

Step 4

Once the dough has increased in size by 3-4 times, it is ready to shape into buns.
- 5
Step 5

Divide the dough into equal portions. The number of portions is up to you; I divided it into 8 parts, resulting in very large buns. Shape them into smooth, round balls. Place them onto a baking sheet greased with refined oil. Let them rise for 20 minutes. Then brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven. Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Remove the ready cottage cheese buns from the oven.

Step 7

Mix the sour cream with sugar. Pour this mixture over the buns and leave them in a warm oven (not turned on!) to rise for about 15 minutes.
