Description

Cheese bagels are very easy to prepare. There's no need to spend a lot of time working with the dough—just mix cottage cheese, flour, egg, and cheese until smooth, and the bagel base is ready. You can omit the cheese if you like, but it's tastier with it; the flavor becomes richer, and the bagels turn out golden and very appetizing. Be sure to try making these cottage cheese bagels with cheese—they're quick to prepare, so they're perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea. They also make a great snack while waiting for lunch or dinner. Alternatively, you can make these bagels sweet! Just reduce the salt and add sugar—and your dessert is ready.

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I chose a fairly dry cottage cheese, it was almost crumbling in my hands. This is exactly the kind we need so that the bagel dough doesn't turn out too wet.

    Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, mix it with the cottage cheese, egg, and salt. Mix well. Then add half of the flour first and knead thoroughly. If the mixture turns out too runny, add more flour. Continue doing this until the mixture becomes dough-like. It should be easy for you to work with.

    Divide the resulting dough into 5 equal parts. You can make more bagels, but then they will turn out thinner and less tender. Roll each part into a sausage the thickness of your index finger, then join the ends to form a ring. Place the rings on a baking sheet and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

    Bake the bagels in the oven at 180 degrees for 15-25 minutes, until golden brown. Let the baked bagels stand for a while and cool down; they will become softer.
