Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the filling. To do this, grind the poppy seeds in a coffee grinder, pour over with hot milk and sugar, and let it soak.
- 2
Step 2

For the dough, sift the flour and mix it with salt, sugar, and baking powder. Wash and dry the lemon, grate the zest, and add it to the flour mixture.
- 3
Step 3

Place a piece of butter in the freezer for ten minutes. Then grate the chilled butter on a grater and add it to the flour. Mix everything together.
- 4
Step 4

Add cottage cheese to a bowl. It is preferable to choose a dry one without lumps. You can also rub the cottage cheese through a sieve.
- 5
Step 5

Chop all the ingredients with a knife so they mix well. Then add a raw chicken egg and include the yolk.
- 6
Step 6

Knead the dough, place it in a bag, and refrigerate for half an hour to let it "rest."
- 7
Step 7

Roll out the cold dough thinly and sprinkle it with ground almonds.
- 8
Step 8

Fold it in half and roll it out again quite thinly with a rolling pin.
- 9
Step 9

Place the filling on the dough, spreading it evenly across the entire surface, leaving a few centimeters free around the edges.
- 10
Step 10

Roll the dough into a log and place it on a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, put the log into the oven, and bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush the finished log with butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
