Cottage cheese Easter dessert with gelatin, without eggs
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Here's a simple recipe for eggless cottage cheese paskha with gelatin. The result is quite unusual, yet delicious. Since there are no eggs, the texture will be drier and more crumbly, but that's exactly why gelatin is needed—to hold and "set" everything together. The dessert will be slightly more diet-friendly. I recommend giving it a try. Serve chilled.

Step 1

1. Mix cream cheese, cottage cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice. Separately, dissolve gelatin as directed on the package, heat it gently to remove any lumps, mix with milk, and pour into the cheese mixture. Stir well, then add candied fruits or raisins if desired.

2. Now carefully transfer the mixture into a piece of cheesecloth, wrap it well into a bag, place this bag at the bottom of a bowl, and put a weight on top. Let it sit under the weight for an hour, then remove the weight and let it stand in the cheesecloth, without the weight, for 24 hours in the refrigerator.
