Braised cabbage with mushrooms and celery
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you want to diversify your diet, I highly recommend trying this recipe. The dish is juicy, nutritious, and very delicious. If you'd like to make a fasting version, simply omit the butter. It's a great option for a hearty family lunch or dinner. Celery goes perfectly with cabbage and mushrooms; it not only enhances the taste and aroma of the dish but also provides an extra dose of vitamins. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

For cooking, it's best to use any thick-bottomed cookware; I use a cauldron. Pour in the oil, heat it, then add the onion cut into pieces of any size and the grated carrot. Sauté the vegetables until soft.
- 3
Step 3

Add the washed sliced mushrooms. If you are using wild mushrooms, they need to be pre-boiled. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 7–10 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the chopped celery stalk.
- 5
Step 5

Simmer everything together for about 5 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Add the shredded cabbage, salt, and ground pepper to taste. Pour in the water and simmer over low heat until the cabbage is cooked.
- 7
Step 7

At the very end, add a piece of butter if desired and stir (if preparing for a fasting meal, you can skip this step). Braised cabbage with mushrooms and celery is ready.

Step 8

Serve at the table.
