Braised Duck with Oranges
Description
The recipe won't take much time. If you want to thicken the sauce before serving, simply add a little flour and cook for a bit longer—the consistency will become thicker and more viscous. This hot dish pairs perfectly with plain boiled rice. Try it and share your impressions. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

First, wash the oranges and squeeze the juice from them. You will need about 9 juicy oranges for one liter of juice. Store-bought juice with sugar and preservatives is not suitable.
- 2
Step 2

Heat a deep skillet and heat the oil in it until very hot. Sear the duck pieces on both sides until golden brown, then transfer them to a plate.
- 3
Step 3

We peel the garlic cloves and slice them, cut the ginger into thin strips, and fry everything in the same skillet until the garlic turns golden.
- 4
Step 4

Now pour the juice into the pan and add all the remaining ingredients except the duck and onion. There's no need to cut the chili pepper. Let the juice come to a boil.
- 5
Step 5

Then add the duck pieces and simmer everything under a lid for an hour and a half. Add the thinly sliced onion 30 minutes before the dish is ready. At this time, you can also add salt to taste if needed.

Step 6

For serving, place the duck on plates and pour the sauce with vegetables on top.
