Braised cod with broccoli

35 min4 serv.19 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Cod is delicious in almost any form, and it pairs exceptionally well with broccoli and soy sauce. When stewed, it turns out much more tender and juicy than baked. To cook stewed cod with broccoli, you'll need a deep frying pan to sear and then braise the fish. Serve the finished dish immediately.

Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

Prepare the ingredients: rinse the fish, cut the broccoli into fairly large pieces, slice two stalks of green onion into rings, slice the regular onion into half-rings. Grate the ginger into a paste. Also, set aside 2 tablespoons of starch from the total amount.

Place a pot of water for the vermicelli on the stove. While the water is coming to a boil, pat the fish dry and coat it in starch. Heat a skillet, add a small amount of oil, and fry the fish on one side first (4 minutes), then on the other side for 1 minute. Set the cooked cod aside for now.

Now for the vegetables: add them to the same skillet to sauté. Add onion, broccoli, ginger, whole peppercorns (you can crush them with a knife), and whole small chili peppers. While the vegetables are sautéing, mix together the broth, starch (2 tbsp), and soy sauce. After 4 minutes of sautéing, pour the mixture into the skillet and bring to a boil.

When you see the sauce with vegetables starting to thicken, return the fish to the skillet. Cook for another 6-8 minutes, then you can turn off the heat.
